Deliverables

In this course, the Deliverables are the big assignments that we create throughout this semester. One of the Deliverables that we had to work on this week was a video that taught someone how to do something. Any of the Deliverables have to be technology-related. For example, I have talked about Twitch, a Nintendo game, and done a Step-By-Step on how to create a website. In this Deliverable, though, I decided to teach people how to use one of my favorite apps, Superimpose.
What was easy?
I think the easiest part was the fact that I used Superimpose. In the video, I mention that I have had the app since I was about 13. This is important for making this Deliverable easy because I genuinely have had a bunch of time to work on honing my skills on this app. It also gave me a great and easy way to work on this project as well. I mean, out of all the things that I could have chosen, choosing something that I am good at makes an assignment 10 times easier than anything else.
Lesson Completion
Something that I had to learn about was how to work Closed Captions. While I did not expect to have any issues, they first were not able to be added when I was working on the project in iMovie. Following this, I thought that Youtube would add them for me, but that didn’t work either. Another step that I tried was to record the video on zoom and hope that the Closed Captions would pop up there. Still? Nothing. So, I went through and typed out the entirety of the Closed Captions. Something cool that Youtube has is that you can add what you are saying and it will sync it for you right away. So, I did just that to add my Closed Captions. It was definitely very helpful, but I was thinking about how people who are hearing impaired really need Closed Captions, and sometimes it can be difficult to obtain whether you mean to add them or not. It also made me realize that I am fortunate to not be hearing impaired, but I will put more effort into making sure that everyone can hear and see what I am saying when I post a video that is word-oriented.
Feedback
While I am still waiting for feedback on this assignment, I feel like I might need to have made clearer instructions, technically speaking. While I walk the audience through what I am doing, it is not a clear-cut set of ideas. Instead, it is a set of ideas based on how one thing led to another. When I use Superimpose, I have to edit the photo based on what I think it needs next. There is no, “Use the magic wand only once,” I might switch between that tool and a paintbrush about seven or eight times, but ultimately, I get to the same end goal that I would like to get to. As a whole though, this is one of the ideas that I believe may be touched on in feedback.
