One of my favorite things to snack on would have to be S’Mores related anything. I like snacks, cookies, and actual S’Mores. Sometimes, though, I don’t have the time to break out the campfire, roast a marshmallow, and piece it all together. Instead, I decided that there had to be some other way to incorporate S’Mores into another great snack. Thus, the S’Mores Rice Krispy Treats were born.
Prep Time: 5 Mins.
Cook Time: 20 Mins.
Cool Time: 5 Mins
Total Time: 30 Mins.
Ingredients:
6 cups of Rice Krispy Cereal
4 tablespoons of Butter
16 oz. Mini Marshmallows
1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
2½ Hershey’s Chocolate Bars
1 jar of Marshmallow Fluff
1. To start off, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Following this, prepare a medium glass pan with cooking spray. This will be set aside for later when you have to dish the rice krispies into the pan.
3. The next step is to get a large pot and place it on the stove. I always start off at the middle temperature for the stovetop just to heat up the pot.
4. Next, add 4 tablespoons of butter to the pot. Allow this to melt down completely before putting the burner on low heat.
5. Once the burner has cooled down a little bit, add 16 ounces of Mini Marshmallows. Most recipes call for the large packages of marshmallows, but I feel as though the mini marshmallows melt down better.
6. When the butter and marshmallows look like the picture below, add 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract. This step simply adds an extra bit of sweetness that my family and friends really love.

7. Next, make sure that the spoon or spatula you are using has been coated in a layer of cooking spray. You may have to coat the spoon multiple times while stirring, but this will prevent anything from sticking. When you have done this, begin to add 6 cups Rice Krispy Cereal. I do about two cups at a time, making sure to get all of the cereal incorporated with the marshmallow mixture. Once this is complete, shut the burner off but leave the pan on the stovetop.
8. The next step is to open the chocolate bars. I always split the pieces apart and then split the single pieces in half again. Next, place about twelve pieces at the bottom of the pan. Then, put about half of the rice krispy mixture on top.
9. After that is complete, follow it by placing about twenty-four pieces of chocolate (12 pieces of the chocolate bar that have been split in half again) on top of the rice krispies. Next, use the marshmallow fluff and spoon about half of the jar onto this layer. I recommend getting two spoons and also coating them in a layer of cooking spray so that the fluff doesn’t stick as much to the spoons.
10. Once you have adequately layered the marshmallow fluff and chocolate, put the rest of the rice krispy cereal on top. Then, repeat putting 24 pieces of chocolate on top of the rice krispy cereal, followed by the rest of the marshmallow fluff.
11. After the top layer is complete, place the pan in the oven for 5-10 minutes. Sometimes it takes more or less time so I always keep an eye on it until the marshmallow fluff begins to get a golden brown color.
12. Once it reaches this point, take the rice krispies out of the oven and then allow them to cool for a few minutes. They should look like this.

All in all, the S’Mores Rice Krispy Treats are a great way to spruce up this basic sweet snack. My brother and his friends always enjoy this recipe, and usually, there are no leftovers whatsoever. Hopefully, you found this recipe easy to follow and you come back to my blog to find more recipes that you enjoy!
